Gunn Yage sat down with her food next to Jessica, who was already eating. Starting with a sigh, she said, "Okay. So what's your big idea that couldn't wait for you to at least shower first?"

Jess was… a mess, to put it plainly. Some cuts, a little bit of blood (the majority of it not hers), some goop on her open jacket, hair covered in dirt and sweat. She finished her bite and gestures vaguely toward where the planet was. "So I'm here to stop the Wookiee Black Sun offshoot, Orange Moon, right?"

"So it's not going to be a quick answer?"

"Absolutely not, buckle in, babe," Jessica answered. Ain't no party like a Wookiee party cause a Wookiee party's got giant spiders with poison face-legs. )

[OOC: Open for calls if anyone wants one after this scene! Will be slow, but I'm game.

Hey, folks! I may only be around once ever year and a half or so, but the game is never far from my mind and I always have Jess ideas. I've had this one in the back of my head for a while now and I felt inspired while fighting some mild insomnia. There will be more to come, someday!

Oh, and of course kinraths are monsters from the KOTOR game. I'm still me.]

Hey, everyone. Just wanted to do a quick infopost because, well, the DW move happened when I had just fallen off from being a regular player so I've never done an infopost on this website. Just a few plots for other people, one larger plot for myself, and yesterday's post. While I'm in the headspace anyway, why not catch people up?

Jessica Drew, Black Widow, Agent of the Imperial Security Bureau )
craftyladyparts: (Realization)
After the Dark Reaper situation on Thule, Jessica settled into a solid routine. Her missions focused on the discovery and trade of Sith artifacts that had flooded the black market since Darth Wredd slaughtered the remaining Sith in the galaxy. This put her in regular conflict with the Black Sun criminal organization.

And that conflict was why The Ultimatum was now streaking through the atmosphere of the ice planet Anteevy with one blown engine and a lot of gumption. She would have even less if her spider-sense hadn't helped her avoid the worst of the laser fire from an attacking ship. But she was dead in the metaphorical water that was space unless she did something crazy like put all power to the good engine, enter the atmosphere, and let gravity help her escape the attacking ship.

These are original characters, but Jot Goar was an actual name. Bless old timey baseball. )

[OOC: Hey everyone! Just doing another entry in the very occasional adventures of Jessica Drew. Things have been wild since the last little thing I posted. That was before I got a new job and my dad died, and now I have a baby who's almost a year old. May those all serve as excuses for why it's been two years. Hope to stop by again more frequently than that in the future! But probably not much. Because of the work. And the kid.

Anyway, can be open for interaction I guess if anyone wants to call Jess while she's waiting on orbit for pickup from a command ship.]

"So I thought about it while I was doing my investigation," Jessica said. "I'm going to order a portal to an Earth. Someplace nice and sunny where we can just relax a bit."

"Do either of us actually know how to relax?" Gunn asked. She was piloting The Ultimatum back to Coruscant. The plan was to park in Jessica's normal spot, pack up, then get a portal via Portalocity. Simple plan, right?

"I'm sure we can figure out how if we try hard enough," Jessica said. "Worst case, we spend some time in swimsuits and then find some way to occupy our time."

"I appreciate your backup plans," Gunn said. And then a portal began to open in the ship. "Um. Jess?"

Fun with portals! )
craftyladyparts: (Realization)
Things had been going pretty well the past couple weeks, except for the lack of off time to actually develop a relationship. Fortunately, things could be arranged so that Gunn could fly Jessica out to her next mission in The Ultimatum. That gave them a little bit of time to bond.

In which Jessica explains a couple awkward truths. Sorry, Cade. )

[OOC: Probably going to be my last prose post for a little bit. I just figured I needed to get all of these things on the record.]
craftyladyparts: (Undercover)
Jessica had spent way too much of the past day wrapping up loose ends. This wasn't something she would normally complain about since work was work and needed to get done, but for the first time in a long time she had some non-work things in mind. That made the loose ends way more annoying.

But they were still getting done. Rundown sent to both K'Kruhk and Draco so they could handle the dark side nexus thing between their groups. (Although if anyone could find plans for the Force Harvester, she could probably design a containment device for it... but she didn't think either the Jedi or Imperials would want a device like that built.) Thanks sent to the Yuuzhan Vong and Morrigan Corde for their help. Case report sent to her superiors at the Security Bureau. Confirmation sent to Finandre in Chiss space.

The only thing she had left was the thing she saved for last because she could be at her most casual during it and wind down the Professional Agent tone. So she was visiting Sia for her debrief. And possibly some girl talk.

[OOC: For Empress Bestie.]
craftyladyparts: (Realization)
The past couple days had been pretty packed. The mission on Thule, bringing Raitell in for processing, touching base with Morrigan Corde and making vague promises to loop her in to something where she’d get to shoot more people next time, and then getting dragged out to celebrate with the Skulls last night. There hadn't been a good old classic superweapon to destroy since well before any of them were born.

Jessica wasn’t a frequent drinker, but her metabolism tended to keep her out of too much trouble when she did hit a cantina. But as it turns out, the Skulls tended to go hard when they celebrated. Hard enough for her to have a headache this morning. And hard enough to take a second to realize that she was not alone in bed. She looked over. Short blonde hair. Skull tattoo on her arm.

Okay.

Yes, I did a nine-post storyarc with a lot of Legends research just to give Jess a girlfriend in a tenth post. Yes, I've had it planned for like 8 months now. This is who I am. )

[OOC: Okay, that's all done. But don't be surprised if I do some more actual RPing coming up while I continue to be out of work.]
craftyladyparts: (BW Leader)
Jessica didn’t like waiting, but striking without the pieces of her plan made no sense. If she was going back to Thule, she needed to destroy the Dark Reaper. It took a few hours before Morrigan Corde arrived with Liaan Lah, a Yuuzhan Vong Warrior, but hopefully they Church of the Dark Side hadn't made too much progress in that time.

The plan itself was simple. The Skulls and Jessica would create as much chaos as possible, and Morrigan would sneak Liaan to the Reaper where he could place a few biots that could do a number on the Dark Reaper. Once the army-destroying superweapon was down, the Wynn Dorvan Scythe-class battlecruiser would arrive in orbit and send additional support to clean up.

I linked that video of the game in the last post. ...I did not really use anything I learned for this finale. Things went different from my original plan, oops. )

[OOC: Nothing coming in the comments. I'm basically done! I have an epilogue thing coming in the next couple days that was actually the entire inspiration for playing with some really weird Legends canon.

Thanks to anyone who actually read all of this nonsense. It was a nice diversion that was accidentally well timed with some unexpected (and frankly unwelcome) free time. Hopefully it was fun for anyone who gave it a read!]
craftyladyparts: (BW Prep)
“This is crazy, you know that right?” Gunn asked. She and Jessica were crammed into her Predator cockpit - there really wasn’t room for two people, so they were in extremely close proximity - flying towards the city of Kessiak, where K’Kruhk told Jessica to look for the Dark Reaper.

“Get to know me better and you’ll find that this is surprisingly normal,” Jessica said. She was wearing a different mask than usual. It was mostly the same, but it covered her mouth and nose completely, just like her old Spider-Woman mask.

“In this cockpit? I’m starting to get to know you intimately,” Gunn joked.

“Fortunately, I’m flexible,” Jessica said. She didn't mean that quite as flirty as it came out. “You’re high enough to avoid any radar?”

“Typically, yeah. I can’t say exactly what equipment they have,” Gunn said. “You’re sure about this?”

“Yep. Just come pick me up when I call you. If I send a distress call, come in hot,” Jessica said. “Okay, we’re a few miles out. Open the hatch door and I’ll see you in a bit.”

Jessica leaped out of the ship, then watched as the door closed and Gunn flew back out of the atmosphere to wait.

It is literally Legends canon that Anakin destroyed this thing once. BRING IT BACK, DISNEY, YOU COWARDS. )

[OOC: One more scene in the comments because I care about your reading page. FYI, if you're curious what the Dark Reaper looks like in action, see this video from the Star Wars: Clone Wars video game from 2002, back before people figured out you could do voices for these characters that aren't just really horrible impressions of the actors. Picture if you will, basically this, but with a smaller, more efficient version of the hovering ball Anakin attacks last being within the giant flying saucer.]
craftyladyparts: (Drinking)
Once she got back to Coruscant, Jessica started trying to figure out how to contact Drevveka Hoctu. Weirdly, she wasn’t actually turning up anything at all. She ended up asking the Jedi for an interview with a Master who might be able to help her with the search, and a meeting was set up with Master K'Kruhk for later on.

In the meantime, she had a message waiting for her from Gunn. The Skulls were meeting up at a Cantina, but she had some information for Jessica. Which, sure, hanging out at a pilot bar felt like the exact right way to kill some time before meeting with the Jedi Master who was also a head of galactic government. Why not.

Coruscant nights )

[OOC: Another scene coming in the comments.]
craftyladyparts: (Realization)
It took some work, but Jessica followed some leads to get a meeting with a contact on a planet called Satvchi in Chiss Ascendancy space. The contact was a member of the Chaf family, who were once one of the ruling noble families in the Ascendancy. Apparently some guy named Chaf’inan’dregor had some information to pass along about Fehlaaur.

If you ever need a weird Star Wars name, take an actual baseball player’s name and mess with it a little. Thanks, Andrew Chafin! )
craftyladyparts: (Serious)
The information from the datapad wasn’t intensely helpful. It had more of an explanation of what a Silooth was - basically an unstoppable war beast created from Sith experiments and almost completely lost to time - and language analysis confirmed that it was written in Cheunh, the language of the Chiss Ascendancy.

In which I set up meeting a character I cannot do justice to but will try to anyway! )

[OOC: NFI. Once again, more prose in the comments. I’m working toward some stuff while I have some time and ideas and focus before I fully disappear for a while again.]
craftyladyparts: (BW Banner)
It had been a few months since Jessica had joined Triumverate Intelligence. Due to her range of skills, she quickly found her way into some weird investigations. Over time it became clear that those investigations were linked and she was looking into a cult dedicated to the Sith.

From what she had pieced together, the Church of the Dark Side didn’t seem to actually *be* Sith. Anyone she had caught involved in Church business had been a former loyalist to Darth Krayt who escaped imprisonment for war crimes after the civil war and seemed to be trying to cultivate a collection of ancient Sith artifacts for their own purposes. Their numbers seemed small, but their leadership was a mystery and there was no way to know how effectively a bunch of normal people could use magical artifacts. Maye it would be easy? That didn't seem likely.

Today’s mission was recon on a planet far out on the Outer Rim, out in the Esstran Sector, called Kalsunor. Another agent, Captain Gunn Yage, received some information on possible cult activity. After a rendezvous on a nearby cruiser, the two agents flew down to the planet in Jessica’s ship, The Ultimatum.

That's enough exposition. Here, have some space action. )

[OOC: Just for me. Some additional prose coming in the comments.]
craftyladyparts: (Default)
It was time for some changes. After being called in to help the Triumvirate Intelligence Service with a mission, they had actively recruited Jessica over to Internal Security. For the first time in years, Jessica was the spy Nick Fury, Monica Chang, and Carol Danvers trained her to be. Just… in space.

And because she was in space, Jessica figured it was time to make a second change. She bought a space ship. Specifically a GPE-7300 space transport. It kind of looked like somebody had strapped a couple rockets to a boot, but not where you would expect. But it was pretty speedy, maneuverable, and affordable, and frankly Jessica might need a ship of her own in her new job to help her get to spy planets without expensing a ticket. So she got one.

And as she flew around a pretty empty expanse of space near Coruscant, she decided to show off to Sia how much good a pilot she was becoming.

“Okay, I know that’s the hyperdrive and that your Knights would hunt me down as a kidnapper if I hit it right now.” And then she didn’t hit that button. See? Great instincts, put toward a practical use. Exactly what a good pilot needed.

[OOC: For Empress Bestie.]
craftyladyparts: (Thinking)
The Inheritors had been defeated and turned into children who could grow into beings who weren't psychopathic energy vampires. The Web of Life and Destiny had been destroyed, along with the Master Weaver, Karn. Dimensional travel was now more difficult for the Spiders, and the Web Warriors had disbanded. They held funerals for their fallen allies, but now it was up to Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 to get everyone home with her portal pendant necklace.

"Thanks, Gwen. I technically have access to a commercial portal system, but it's even worse than the MTA," Jessica said.

"With travel power comes the responsibility to see everyone off," Gwen said. "We'll all be back together eventually."

Jessica slung both blaster rifles over her shoulders and laughed. "Hopefully it's for something fun next time, but that doesn't seem to be our luck. Be safe."

With that, she stepped through the portal and was back on Coruscant, in the same hanger she was in when she left. As a seasoned dimensional traveller by now, she immediately synced up to the local networks to check what day and time it was. "Huh. I guess that took a little longer here than it did in 616." She shot off a couple messages to Sia and her squad to let them know she was back in this dimension, stopped at the armory to drop off her rifles, then made her way to her quarters. She really needed to rest, relax, change out of uniform and into comfy clothes for at least a few hours, and have a little bit of leisure time to recharge.

It just so happened that Jessica's leisure time also involved grabbing her datapad and reading reports on what had happened the past couple weeks while she had been away.

You had our definition of rest, relaxation, and leisure, and Jessica had hers.

[OOC: Open for visits from anyone who might be in the Legacy GFFA or phone calls.]
craftyladyparts: (BW Banner)
This portal was different than anything Jessica had experienced before. It was less precise than the portal she had set up at Stark's and certainly than the web watches Spiders had been using to travel through the Web of Life and Destiny, yet strangely less chaotic than Portalocity.

The portal was somehow cued to Gwen's spider-sense. As she reached out mentally through the multi-verse, they would pause whenever they found another Spider to bring into the fight. They had built an army in minutes, but she was still seeking the right world out.

Considering how many of the people in the group were Peter Parkers, there was a real tension as everyone tried not to be the first person to ask if they were there yet.

Found it. )

What's next? )

[Adapted from Spider-Geddon #5.]
craftyladyparts: (BW Determined)
"Decker! Sturtze!" Jessica ordered. "Get the squad geared up. We're shipbound in 10."

Things had been busy recently. Mission after mission after mission and Jessica had to work to find time to catch up with Sia. Spider Squadron was about to go on another one, but she had a few minutes to talk as long as Sia didn't mind watching troops gear up before getting on their ship.

“Did I hear that you brought something back from Fandom?” she asked now that the troopers were out of earshot. Well, nearly, because she spotted one of her corporals pop his head up. “Not you, Bandy! I’m talking to the Empress, show some respect!”

"I think I'm a bad influence in terms of smartassery."

[OOC: For Sia and then WHO KNOWS WHO ELSE. I do. I know.]
craftyladyparts: (BW Leader)
It started with one small freighter being pursued by ships piloted by pirates. The freighter was hopelessly outnumbered before the Triumverate fleet appared suddenly from out of hyperspace. Led by Gar Stazi's capital ship, the Trand Cappa, the fleet bullied its way to the broken Ring of orbiting space stations above Dac that comprised the shipyards.

Knowing that there were countless Mon Calamari and Quarran captives within the Ring station held hostage by pirates and the Sith Lord, Darth Luft, Admiral Stazi had a plan to gain an instant advantage. His capital ship, the Trand Cappa, docked with the Ring, but not via a normal airlock. Knowing that the Dac refugees were amphibious and most of the pirates wouldn't be, Stazi had the Trand Cappa and other massive ships loaded with massive quantities of water, which they pumped directly into the Ring station.

Let's go, Spider Squadron! )

[OOC: And another post! NFI. This post inspired by the events of Star Wars: Legacy volume 2 #10. Some dumb character names invented by me.]
craftyladyparts: (Serious)
It had been a rocky couple weeks for Jessica. She and Sia had a disagreement about the role they should be taking in certain galactic affairs re: Sith Lords and the distribution of forces. Namely, Sia was being pragmatic and Jessica wasn't a fan of letting Darth Wredd run rampant to murder convenient people. She was on thin ice already or else she would have brought up the insanity of a death warrant on the head of an Imperial Knight who deserted to stop Wredd.

Jessica had spent recent days trying to arrange for missions in the Outer Rim to try to help people literally on the fringes of society, but her Spider Squadron was on standby in case there was a major Sith attack, so it was no go. Back in her SHIELD days, she would have gone rogue, knowing that Fury would respect results enough to let things slide. But that was back home. She still didn't have a strong enough feel for this galaxy's military to figure out how to get away with that without ruining everything and getting her soldiers in trouble.

At least she didn't before she got a message from Admiral Gar Stazi to meet in a nearby conference room.

Jess talks to Alien Nick Fury, if he weren't a borderline sociopath )

[OOC: Hey look, a post! NFI. Another one coming later! This one inspired by Star Wars: Legacy volume 2 #9.

Anyway, hi, how's it going?]
